Mind the boat... :d
Tyysm :D I didn't realize, i though i could only edit the title TYYY!
going with what Bunnia said, comparing your present art to your old art will definitely help! (this is also very egotiscal, but compare your art to... well... trashier art --oh god pls don't hate me for this--. Ego boost is everything an artist needs, in my opinion of course!)
trying to be the best mindset will never help you (yes it can for some time, but not in the long run). trying to improve mindset will. every art piece you make helps in the long run! Nothing is ever a waste of time, as much as you might want to differ.
I like to think that art is just a matter of patience, like working out (sorry if this is off-topic, but covid and Instagram bodies rlly stuck with me these past 2 years. I like to compare art with dieting, bc as much as I tried to diet, I'd always go back to the mirror and see no difference. But after a month when i'd work up the courage to go to the scale again, i'd see a difference).
My tip is to just keep pushing. Accept the present and use it to help the future.
*I saw that you mentioned working slowly--that's okay! Try to take some shortcuts and again, practicing will make everything faster because you'll be learning what to do. When you start, I like to know what the focus is and pay most of my attention on that area. The other parts don't need a lot of focus, esp tiny things (like drawing jewelry, you don't need every spec of color, zoom out and see what people actually see.)
one thing I really like about your art is your clothing folds, I absolutely don't know what I'm doing when i draw those but the shading of them in the last piece of yours i saw here was amazing!
i use csp and i use the real g-pen ! Bc ik my lineart will never turn out clean, it kinda gives a pencilly look but not too pencilly (is that even a word?)
My stabilization is 5 (out of 100)
USEE VECTOR LAYErSSS for lineart if u hv them. they're so helpfulllll, esp if you don't have a pen or tablet
Happy new year to all <3
Wishing a hopefully covid-free year to my place (maybe yours :0)

Ooo yess!
^Elaine
Everything is up to u just keep the basics (color)
Background info ! :
Comes from a moderately rich fam--i love villainess mangas so I tend to make my characters in that sort of timeline--. Shes like the mastermind in social groups--very observative and is aware of how people look at her (cares about her rep)
Ooo i read that u could humanize ish so i'll be joining!!
I just got a tablet with a pen so i'm rlly lf characters to draw or test things out--rlly new to pen drawing!! arts on my wall although its rlly outdated :d, but if u want, pls lmk ur character and i'll draw it asap!! ty!
I can join <3 (agree with above, pls hv budget)
i'll join if i can!! (eat dinner at that time)
^Just want to add, like basil's art, try to add sharp (not blended or with an airbrush) shadows!! Brings more definition to the hair and creates the illusion of a lot of hair
^you can also note of the basic shape of the eye, like how it curves near the '3rd' eye or pink spot --goes to nose (srry you can tell i don't know my names)
I found this image online :)
You can try copying it (while doing so, analyze it--how do they place the eyeball, how the eyelashes curl and what direction they go and + ) and then you can try drawing it again with the new knowledge you learned :D (then personalize--how do you want the inside of the eyeball to look like for example--not a realistic drawer so I'm not accurate but I don't think you can really personalize something realistic, but when you don't want to draw realistically, you could twist some features and personalize it!)
Maybe add some shading :D It always helps :)
For drawing the eye itself (without coloring) you can also look at refs!! I think from the comments above you're trying realistic art so maybe search up realistic eyes!!
That shading is AMAZINGG
^thanks!!!--will do <3
