Hello! I'm hoping to make a regularly-posted blog series about identifying mystery/covered rare pets as i've seen a lot of people have trouble with them.
DISCLAIMER: Not all features can be identified. Some pet clothing items cover features fully and thus the features cannot be known unless the clothing items are removed.

Features that can be identified: eye type (lash only)
Like ladybugs, fireflies have only one accessory that can cover major features - the gas mask. This is able to cover all eye types, however with lashed eyes the lashes can be seen poking out of the mask. If the firefly has no pattern, there is no way to identify its primary colour if it is wearing a gas mask. Otherwise, its primary colour is the colour of its pattern on its abdomen.
The cat hat can also hide a firefly's antennae.
There are also a handful of other firefly accessories that can change features' appearance; namely the range of different antennae available and the accessory 'effects'. Antennae are largely subjective - however, it may be useful to know what antennae are accessories.
